Where are brunt work boots made? When I first heard about Brunt's work shoes, they caught my attention. They promised high-quality boots that match or exceed what you get from premium brands (think Red Wing or Keen Utility). However, they strive for a lower price with a direct-to-consumer business model. They're made in China.

BRUNT WORK BOOTS: THE MARIN
With only four models to choose from at the moment, I liked the look of the Brunt Marin work boot better. It has a classic leather look with a wedge that I hoped would give me comfort for those jobs where I spend all day standing on concrete floors.

It is the first one I will mention in this review. If Brunt is to succeed in the competitive world of work boots, they will have to give him more bang for the buck than the competition.
Style
When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was the smell. Yes, the smell. Brunt Marin boots smell like real leather should smell and I wish I had bottled it. As a first impression, they were off to a good start.
Looking over the boot, it usually has double stitching with a few single stitches around the top. The toe box has a contrasting stitch color, giving it a loafer-like look.
Brunt opts for an all-in-one width structure. If you normally wear a D (regular) width, just put on the boot and go ahead. If you have wide feet, pull the gray insert out from under the insole to give you extra room.
The removable footbed consists of three parts: a non-stick top layer, memory foam in the middle, and a cushioned bottom layer.
Moving on to the midsole, we find a rubber foam and this is the main point where Brunt had to choose. This foam is denser than EVA and other foam midsoles we see in boots like the Keen Utility Cincinnati.
As a result, it is not so comfortable and you notice that if you work on concrete or asphalt all day. However, it is not uncomfortable. It's just not that comfortable.
On other surfaces (soil, rocky terrain, grass) there is less difference.
The advantage of this denser layer is that it lasts longer than less dense foams. While some work boots reach the point where they need to be replaced in about 6 months, we expect this midsole to last a year or more.

Given the materials and construction, we'd expect a shoe like this to cost anywhere from $150 to $180, so it really is an excellent value proposition.
IT COMES DOWN TO
Should you buy Brunt Marin work shoes? Based on my experience so far, I'd say it's a resounding yes!
However, there are a few caveats. First, if you've already switched to the super-comfortable midsoles some brands offer, you'll notice the difference on hard surfaces. Second, the direct selling model means you can't try them out in the store.
If you're the kind of person who needs to know it's right before your first day at work, that could be a problem.
That said, I dare you to find a work boot with the same quality for the price Brunt is asking. I have no doubt that the Brunt work boots are the best value for money currently available.
